About the artists

Ashleigh Angel Moyo, professionally known as Shashl, is a Zimbabwean singer and songwriter born on 25 December 2000. She became the first female musician from Zimbabwe to sign with Universal Music Africa.

Born and raised in Harare, Zimbabwe, Shashl is the daughter of former Zimbabwean Minister of Health Obadiah Moyo. She completed her early education at Hellenic Secondary School in Harare.

Shashl began her music career in 2017 with the release of her debut track, “No More.” She later released “Blow It in the Wind,” her first single under Universal Music Africa.

Her growing influence in the Southern African music scene earned her a nomination for Best Female Artist in Southern Africa at the eighth African Muzik Magazine Awards. She also won the Best Newcomer award at the Zimbabwe Music Awards.

On 14 March 2022, Shashl released her debut album, “Highway,” a 14-track project produced by Levels Chillspot.
